COMMUNITY QUILTS was inspired by small pockets of spaces that had a distinctive Singaporean flavour but were frequently overlooked by Singaporeans. It is an expansion of the traditional concept of a family portrait photographing people who lived, worked, or even those who just happened to just pass by - one by one.

You are invited to relook at these spaces you might have forgotten. Look at each series from far, and up close. You will be simultaneously looking at one photograph and thirty photographs. Like Singapore, we are one, but we are also many too.

Community Quilts is a photography project by Ivan Tan, Juliana Tan and Samuel He. The project is supported by the SG50 Celebration Fund as part of Singapore's 50th Anniversary in 2015.

The project was on two years-long exhibition at Rochor Centre, Level 4, Blk 4 common area.
